Should I take Plan B?
Hi there,
While I'm currently in the time window for Plan B, I'm trying to figure out if I need it or not. Last night, I had sex with my boyfriend. I'm on Lo Loestrin Fe 1mg/10mcg. I've been on it for 5 months and I always take it on time. However, last week when I started my new pack I has major head/chest congestion, resulting in a steroid shot and a 6 pill pack of Azithromycin 250 mg, which I finished up last Friday. We used a condom, however it was put on inside out at first then flipped. I know it's stupid but I'm worried. It wasn't on all the way before I figured it out, but he was dry when it comes to precum. I made sure to wipe him off before putting the condom on. He did not finish or ejaculate and it only lasted for about a minute or so. Should I get Plan B?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi alipaige,
When you got the steroid shot and the pills, did your doctor mention they would interact with your pill (you can read more about what does and does not interact here: Something You Can Worry About Less: Interference and Hormonal Birth Control )? If not, then you can assume your pill's effectiveness was not decreased.

Re: Should I take Plan B?
No, he didn't. I went to an urgent care clinic and made sure to put it down on the paper that I'm taking birth control. I should've outright asked him. I'm just worried and unsure of if I should spend the money on Plan B or not. My boyfriend thinks I am over reacting and that everything is fine.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Got it. If you don't see it listed in that article I linked to, you can also call your pharmacist and ask them about whether or not those things would interact with the pill.

I don't see it on there. Could I just go up to the counter and ask before I buy it? Where I'm located, Plan B and other medications of that nature are kept behind the counter and you have to ask for it.

Yep, that is definitely an option (and is one of the more efficient options)

I asked a pharmacist and she said it doesn't. I feel much better now. Thank you for the help!

You're welcome!
Also, for future reference, if you put a condom on inside out, just toss it. It can feel a little wasteful, but can save you from feeling stressed.
