Scarleteen Digital Pride!

Hello! If you’re here then you, like us, are excited and ready for Scarleteen’s Annual Digital Pride Celebration!

We hosted an online, digital celebration last year, and are continuing to do so for a number of reasons. For starters, while the COVID-19 pandemic is in a very different (and decidedly less awful, thank goodness) stage than it was last summer, meeting in large groups is still not a safe or sound choice for many people in many places.

We’re also very aware that lots of our users often can’t access in-person Pride celebrations, whether that’s due to living somewhere Pride isn’t widely celebrated, not being able to be safely out⁠ (out: Short for ‘out of the closet’. When someone’s LGBTQ+ identity is known to other people.) , a disability that makes a lot of Pride events a non-starter, or something else entirely. We always want to host a Pride that as many people can attend as possible!

So, you’re invited to join us on June 25th and 26th for the inclusive, low-key, and (sometimes – okay, often) goofy glory that is Scarleteen Pride!

We’ll be updating this page throughout the celebration to include links to all kinds of good stuff, including:

• Scarleteam members sharing some favorite pieces of queer⁠ (queer: In the context of sexuality, a broad term for sexual orientation that can describe any number of orientations which are not heterosexual. Do you have a photo of a furry, feathered, scaled, or otherwise adorable friend showing off their pride? Share it to help us fill a thread with animals and rainbows, and don’t forget to use the hashtag #PetPride so we can find you!

• 3:30 PM EST: Marvel at Le Tango Dragalicious from The Pantses (AKA, watch our founder and their partner⁠ (partner: In a sexual context, a person with whom someone is having some kind of sex. The term “partner” can be used for all kinds of relationships, not just serious ones. “Partner” can also mean the person someone is with in a romantic or familial partnership.) show you that whether or not it ever gets better, it certainly gets more ridiculous).
