Stopping birthcontrol

Unread post by Mrodri »

I recently stopped taking birthcontrol .. I got my period at the time I was supposed to according to the pack and just didn't start a new pack a couple weeks later (maybe 2 weeks or a week and a half) I got another period , I had unprotected sex about 4 days after that . It's been 3 days and I've taken the EC Ella . Do you think I can still be pregnant?

Hello there, Mrodri. Welcome to Scarleteen. :)

The only way to know if pregnancy did happen is by taking a pregnancy test. You can do that when you have a missing period or 14 days after the risk, whatever comes first. Tought taking EC certainly reduces the chances of pregnancy is always good to take a test just to make sure it worked. If you want to learn more about EC, you can do it here: http://www.scarleteen.com/article/sexua ... traception

Keep in mind that sex without a condom also poses a risk of STI's so, if you are not up to date with testing, this could be a good moment to do it.
