Hi,
I am on alesse 21 combination pill. I take my pill at the same time every night but continue to have a strong withdrawal bleeding. I have been on the pill for two years. My doctor switched me to mirvala 21. I took a Sunday start alesse pill on Sunday & have taken Mondays pill as well. My doctor told me to start my new pills straight away, do I take the Sunday mirvala pill? Even if it is Tuesday? If I do this, will my new start date be Tuesday? Instead of a Sunday start? Am I still protected against pregnancy if I switch pill brands?
Thank you!

Re: Switching birth control pill packs
Switching brands is not going to affect your level of protection as long as you do not skip any active pills. If your doctor told you to start right away, you can start on your new pills with the first Tuesday, so you can take 21 active pills (no matter which brand) and take your placebo pills as usual. Does this make sense?
