Birth control help
Birth control help
I have been on birth control since November and I take it at night from around 9pm-12am. I have also recently started to become sexually active (we double up protection with condoms). My pill is low dosage. If I take it at night and wake up the next morning and have intercourse that day and take the pill again at night, am I using it correctly?

Re: Birth control help
Your pill works the same no matter when you have sex. Correct use means taking it at around the same time every day - which it sounds like you do - with no late or missed pills, and using a second method if you are taking any other medication that might interfere with the pill. If you want to read more about exactly how the pill works to prevent pregnancy, there's a good explanation right here: How do birth control pills really work, even during the placebo period?
