How do I talk to my mam about sexual stuff

Hi there!
So i’ve been experiencing pain/discomfort if i try and insert anything into my vagina (eg my vibrator) and i want to try talk to my mam about it but i’m not sure how to bring it up, we’re really close but don’t talk about those sort of things really and i’m struggling on trying to figure out how to tell/ask her about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏻

In order to give you the best advice we can, I want to ask a couple questions for context, if that's okay. First, have you ever had ANY conversations about this kind of topic? Is this the kind of thing you think she'd be open minded about discussing?

We had the “talk” when I turned 13/14 cant exactly remember when. She found my vibrator a few months ago but we never talked about it. Well when i was younger my neighbour was being very sexual towards me and she told me about sex, etc. Other than that we haven’t talked about it at all really as i’m not sexually active and have never had a partner. I think she’d be open minded i just have no clue how to bring this sort of stuff up

Hi lucy!

I hope it's okay that I'm jumping in. Starting a conversation around this can be intimidating! One suggestion that the article gives is to write down what you're going to say. This could be really helpful to gather and sort your thoughts before approaching your mom. It also might be helpful to be direct and to the point with what you're going to say. I hope this helps in getting the gears moving for you.

Thanks for your advice, it’s not a bad idea i might try it out. She’s in work at the moment so i’ll try plan it out before she gets home. I’ll let you know if it works 💀
