Re: Looking out for sister.

Is your sister receiving prenatal care from a doctor? That's the best way for her to stay healthy through her pregnancy and delivery, and maybe she can share some of the information she's gotten from the doctor with you so you can feel more at ease.

Re: Penis shape

As we mentioned in our chat yesterday, there really isn't a way to change the curvature of your penis - it's just how your body is shaped. You can position it however feels comfortable in your underwear, but that isn't going to have an impact on the shape over time.

Re: Should we break up?

Hi Luckywolf, I think that even though it sounds like the idea makes you nervous, talking to him about communication and other worries really is the only way to know if you can get on the same page at all here. If you feel like things have broken down enough that you just can't imagine talking to hi...

Re: How do you comfort yourself?

Brave1, I haven't woven anything in a long time but I rely on knitting quite a bit to help me relax when I need comforting, especially if it's an easy pattern that I can work on without thinking about it too much. Simple, repetitive knitting puts me in a bit of a trance state, sometimes, where I'm d...

Those are always nice to see. :) I will use them if they're around, but sadly that's not often the case.

As a fun note: a restaurant fairly close to me has two unisex restrooms: one has a unicorn on the door, the other has a unicycle.

Re: I was wondering how to approach this topic with my mom..

It is possible that if your mom had really strong opinions on what she felt was acceptable, in terms of sleeping arrangements, she would have mentioned them up front - this could be her way of giving you a hint about how she feels, or at least about her openness to negotiation. But really, there's n...

Re: Insurance Billing for STD Testing

The best thing to do, here, is call Aetna specifically to ask how that works; the folks there will have the most up to date information on how things are displayed on the bill/EOB.

The best person to ask about any sort of drug interactions would be the prescribing doctor or your pharmacist; they'll have the most up to date information on interactions. You can just give a call and ask. :)

Re: Can STD's cause a missing period?

Have you seen this article? M.I.A or, Dude, Where's My Period? We really can't know why your period's late, just because there can be many potential causes, but STIs aren't generally going to be a culprit in upsetting your cycle. It is a good idea, though, to go ahead and get started on regular STI ...

Re: Questions on contraceptive pill

There's really no way for us to know what might be causing you to urinate more often. You know it isn't a UTI since you were tested for it, and unless you're having pain with urination or other significant pain/health issues, I don't see it as cause for concern. If you are really worrying about it, ...

Re: Neutral Masturbation

I think whether trying masturbating and not enjoying it is better or worse than just not doing it for now is going to vary from person to person. If you find that trying masturbation, from time to time when you happen to be feeling aroused, is causing you a lot of frustration or just not doing much ...

Re: Questions on contraceptive pill

The pack should at least tell you which pill to take first, yes? For rectangular packs that's generally the top-left pill; you'll take that and move left to right like a calendar. Some pill packs have the pills in a circle but again, they should be marked in some way. If you still aren't sure after ...

Re: Can't relax enough to be penetrated.

By ready, I think what Sam means is: is that a sensation your body is excited about? Are you wanting to have intercourse because you desire that penetrative/insertive feeling, and not just because you feel like you should be ready for it or that's the way to have a normal sex life? It sounds like it...

Re: Birth control effectiveness

You actually have a window of several hours before your pill is officially considered "late" so 15 minutes either way will definitely put you well within the realm of perfect use. Even taking your pill in a 6-hour window isn't a problem. So right now you are certainly at full effectiveness...

Re: 2nd period in a month?

Certainly, forgetting your birth control pill for a couple of days can throw things out of whack a bit. It's not unusual to experience erratic bleeding if you have a mishap like that. We can't know exactly why this happened, but your birth control is a likely culprit.

Re: Tonne of questions about periods and what affects them

Like Heather said, we can't tell you what's going on in your body because that's just not something anyone can do - we aren't uterus-psychics. I think what she was saying is that since this sounds like the start of your period, all you can do is wait and see if that's what it is. But we can't give y...

Re: Sexual harassment, victim blaming, and other bullshit.

It's definitely not something you've done. Sexual harassment, like sexual assault, is 100% the fault of the person choosing to harass someone else. I'm really sorry you're dealing with this, but know that it's not something you brought on yourself.

Re: Tonne of questions about periods and what affects them

Like Heather said, it's very normal for period cycle length to vary, even when you have a history of regularity. The number of factors that can impact your cycle timing are huge, and there's really no way to know, at any time, what if anything is causing those changes. It's always ok to ask a doctor...

Re: the conraceptive pill

Ok. Often times, pills are packaged with a week of placebo pills that have no medication, just so folks don't lose track of where they are in the month - it helps with this sort of situation. It sounds like you took your pill a day early - if your first pill was taken on a Monday, then the first pil...

Re: the conraceptive pill

Did you take the placebo pills during that week? As long as you took one pill per day, you're on the right pill right now. If it turns out you did start your next pack a day early, it won't impact the pill's effectiveness in any way, so it's really not something you need to worry about.
