Re: Contraceptive pills - medical history

I’m so sorry. I have more questions. Do you know if urine pregnancy test kits (like the ones sold at pharmacies, Clear Blue etc) are accurate if one tested 2-3 weeks after a perceived potential risk? Stopping the pill would give me an increased anxiety but I would want to give my body a break before...

Re: Contraceptive pills - medical history

I was just wondering in terms of health and safety, is it ok for me to stop taking the pills for a while (for example 4 months or so) and when there is a need to, I go back on the pills. Will that cause any harm to my body? Can I start and stop whenever I want? I just know that my body will need som...

Re: Contraceptive pills - medical history

Okay I ended up taking the pill for my next pack.

Just curious, does anyone take the birth control pill just to regulate their period? So that they will get it every 28 days or so? Do people with PCOS get prescribed with contraceptive pills?

Re: Contraceptive pills - medical history

Well, I would be in quarantine for the whole of April. Wouldn’t that be a good time to rest out this theory since there won’t be any intimacy?

It will increase my anxiety, but if I am not doing anything intimate, my only anxiety will be for my natural period to come quickly.

Re: Contraceptive pills - medical history

Thing is it’s too late for me to go to my health care provider because the next pill cycle starts tomorrow! So I think you are suggesting that it doesn’t make sense for me to stop for a month and then continue again if I am going to be on the pills eventually? I just wanted to see if my period would...

Re: Contraceptive pills - medical history

Hello Sian. Thank you for the response. I have anxiety and OCD in general and my menses have been very irregular. My cycles are from 39 days and longest was like 54 days. I am not in a position to be able to get myself pregnant now, especially with the COVID situation now. Also my family is very con...

Re: Contraceptive pills - medical history

Also, sorry just tagging on the same post... Since we are in quarantine the whole month of April and we are not living together, I am thinking to stop taking the pill for this month and give my body a break. I wouldn’t need the pills since we won’t be even be able to see each other much or be intima...

Contraceptive pills - medical history

Is taking contraceptive pills considered part of my medical records/ medical history? Are these prescriptions considered confidential medical information? I am concerned about data privacy and medical records privacy and I wonder if those details will be sent through post or mail without my consent?...

Re: Is it possible for the withdrawal bleed to be late even when on birth control?

Hello. Thank you for the reply. My concern was more of if the withdrawal bleed could be late even though it is supposed to be regulated with the birth control pill? It has been for the past 4 months, coming in the 4th day after my last pill. So I was just wondering because I haven’t seen any brown d...

Re: Is it possible for the withdrawal bleed to be late even when on birth control?

I wanted to add that the intimacy happened over the weekend, so 2 to 3 days after my last pill during the placebo week. Not sure if that changes the situation because I think I would still be covered during the placebo week even if I am not taking any pills right?

Is it possible for the withdrawal bleed to be late even when on birth control?

Hi, I have been on birth control for the past 4 months and my withdrawal bleed always happen on the 4th day after the last pill. So my last pill is always on Friday and the bleed will start on Tuesday. I wonder if it is possible at all for the bleed to be late even though I am on birth control pills...

Re: Birth control pill fell out of packaging

Also, what if I forgot and accidentally took 2 yasmin pills in a day. Is that safe and effective still or will I need a back up plan?

Birth control pill fell out of packaging

Hi guys, I am on yasmin, my birth control pill. I realised one of the pill fell out of the packaging and it ended up in the zipped component/pocket of my bag. Putting aside hygiene, can I ask if the pill would still be effective if I take it? Can it still prevent ovulation and do what’s it supposed ...

Re: Yasmin and cancer risks

Thank you for the response! Does this mean that there is no definite link between breast cancer and birth control pills? It doesn’t mean that if I have a family history of breast cancer and I take birth control pills, I am certain to have breast cancer in future right? I understand that there are ot...

Yasmin and cancer risks

Hello, I have been on the pill for 3 months now. And all has been good. But I am now worried about taking Yasmin and it’s associated risk with Breast and cervical cancer. More worried about breast cancer though. My grandmother had breast cancer, so does this mean that I have a family history of brea...

Re: Spotting while on Yasmin

Thank you!

Also, does it matter if I don’t take my combined pills exactly 24 hours apart? My usual time is at 10am, but because I have been travelling and work, I couldn’t take it at exactly 10am. So usually I take it earlier at 9.30am or 9am. Is that ok too?

Re: Spotting while on Yasmin

Just wanted to say all’s good! I got withdrawal bleed which lasted about 3 days. I had another questions about taking the pill while traveling. I am currently living in Singapore and will be traveling to Japan next year. There is a time difference and Japan is an hour ahead of Singapore. My question...

Re: Spotting while on Yasmin

Thank you! That’s amazing, I didn’t know that I would still have pms symptoms although technically I am not having a “natural” cycle. Is there any reason why we would still feel the pms symptoms like how one would normally experience them in a natural cycle? I’m so sorry I have so many questions! Ju...

Re: Spotting while on Yasmin

Thank you for the response! I am not having penis-in-vaginal sex but I am just paranoid when I get intimate with my partner. I am supposed to get my withdrawal bleed during the fourth week while i am not taking any pills. 1. Does the pills I took for the pas...

Re: Spotting while on Yasmin

Thanks Sam! With regards to protection against pregnancy, I know that it is recommended to take one cycle of birth control pills before going without a second birth control method. Awesomee, thank you you guys are really helpful. In terms of withdrawal bleed, is the amount of bleeding equals to what looks like a period? Like enough to fill a pad? Re: What colour is precum?

Oh sorry I also wanted to add that I read online from an Australian government website (https://playsafe.health.nsw.gov.au/2015/02/05/penile-discharge/) on sexual health that the precum colour ranges from clear fluid to whitish. So I just wanted to confirm if it’s normal? It only looks like that som...
