Not sure about starting HRT

Hi!

I've been kind of thinking about starting HRT, but I'm not sure. This is probably something to talk in detail with my gender therapist. I know something feels off for me, particularly around my voice. I'm uncomfortable to speak.

I'm just uncertain about starting HRT, because I don't know if I want to look like a full-on man? I just don't know and I'm looking for some guidance in how to proceed or think through this.

Hi there, Berkley2003

While this is something that you could bring up with your therapist, we can still talk about it here. To start, two questions:
  • Are there effects of HRT that you think you will like? (I imagine you might want the vocal changes)
  • What effects of HRT do you think you won't like?
It may be possible for you to try HRT for some time to see if you like it, since some effects are reversible.
