Weird tissue in period blood?

Unread post by tonasa94 »

So I got my withdrawal bleed today after freaking out a bit beforehand, and after a few hours I went to go change my pad, when I noticed something kind of strange there. I saw this string-like piece of long, rubbery, white tissue with blood on either end on the pad. When I looked down into the toilet, there was also about a quarter sized piece of this whitish, kind of fleshy looking tissue that looked to be the same consistency as what I saw on my pad. Could it be an early miscarriage? I'm not having any heavier bleeding than normal, nor very bad cramps. I've also read that this could be a piece of built up uterine lining which wasn't broken down completely, as a side effect of my pill. I haven't had a withdrawal bleed since 7 weeks after starting my last one, because I ran two packs of pills together to avoid my period while I was travelling in a more remote area. Should I ask my doctor about this?

Hi Tonasa,

Yes, it is most likely part of your period, but we can't diagnose it via internet. So, if you're worried, checking in with a doctor is a good move
