Planned parenthood

Unread post by DulceDiva »

My mom is taking me to planned parenthood this week for birth control , we're uninsured & I'm 17. I also want a internal / external pelvic exam. I've had really painful periods which is why I started birth control. Although that's not the main reason I want one , if you've seen some of my other posts I'm having some issues with masturbating & the sexual response cycle. If I said Mom , I want a pelvic exam , she would be like why you're not sexually active but if I said because of my periods I'm sure she'd say yes. So it seems the only choice I have is to tell her it's because of my painful periods but I'd prefer not to lie. I don't drive nor do I have a lot of money so without assistance I wouldn't be able to get there .

I also saw this which http://www.acog.org/Patients/FAQs/Your- ... -for-Teens says girls should have the first gyno visit between 13 & 15. So I could also have this argument.

So I told her ,that I needed one because of my period issues & because I missed the guide line . So she consented . Any thing special I should do before I go?

Have you seen Your First Gynecologist Visit ? That should fill you in well.
The kyriarchy usually assumes that I am the kind of woman of whom it would approve. I have a peculiar kind of fun showing it just how much I am not.
