Re: Torn and confused.
Hello Martin, Sorry to hear you are having a bad day! At least you can come here and vent a little. I'll answer the two questions you posted before: - When I wrote ''That's all. Not a lot,is it?' I was talking about the sexual experiences my boyfriend had before we got together. The two experiences ...

Re: Experiences with Menstrual Cups
Hiya Atonement, It's possible that your cup is too long for you. Diva is one of the longest cups on the market, and it generally does not work for people with a lower cervix (such as me!). You could try it out by flipping the cup inside out, which shortens it; if it works better for you that way, yo...

I think there are plenty of ways to wear a scarf on your head that do not make it look like you are wearing a hijab. Especially if you leave some hair showing. I found this page that shows a lot of different ways one can wear a head scarf: http://www.scarves.net/how-to-tie-a-scarf/head-scarves If I ...

Re: Questions on contraceptive pill
Most people who menstruate skip a period every once in a while. That is normal all by itself. And sure, starting to use the pill can shake things up for a while, so yes, that makes it even less of a concern if that happens. The pill does not overwrite your normal cycle completely, so PMS symptoms ca...

Re: Questions on contraceptive pill
Hi Berry, I've been on the pill for a long time, so I can try to answer that: Yes, it's normal to get those symptoms at that time, because your period is getting closer. Just like it would be normal to get them if you weren't taking the pill. After all, the pill does not overwrite your normal cycle ...

Hey Martin, I'm glad to hear you sounding happier! Re: Advice and help on Tampons (I know nothing about them :/
Hi Berry,
Here's a good article that may be suitable as a starting point for your research: http://www.scarleteen.com/article/bodie ... nstruation
Personally I started with Normal Absorbency tampons and went from there. That may be a good start for you, too.

Re: Reminder: guidelines per posting unlawful activity/inten
Actually, now that I read them again, your guidelines do mention one US law: "Due to United States COPPA law, registration at the boards is not available for users under the age of 13 without mailed, written permission from a parent or guardian." So that is, at least, an indication that th...

Re: Reminder: guidelines per posting unlawful activity/inten
Sorry, I'll be happy to explain: I meant that users like me, who do not live in the US, may not see this as an American site. We/they may see it as an international site. For that reason, we may not assume that 'the law' means 'US law' in this case. I fully appreciate that this simply hasn't been a ...

Re: Reminder: guidelines per posting unlawful activity/inten
Okay. May I suggest mentioning that somewhere on your 'User Guidelines & Privacy Policy' page? "The law" is pretty vague.
You may think of this as an American site, but as you know, you have a lot of users from other countries too. And they don't necessarily see it that way.

Re: Menstrual Cups & UTIs
As a cup user, I feel that there are two ways that using cups can contribute to getting urinal tract infections. Both of them are avoidable, with a bit of awareness and extra care. - Fumbling around in the area close to your urethra with unwashed hands. Solution: wash your hands before removing your...

Re: Having a healthy attitude about pornography
I can't say I agree with that. Porn could be doing someone harm (for example, by giving them unrealistic expectations) without them knowing until later.Johanna wrote:When it comes to use of pornography, the use of it is only harmful when someone experiences it as such.

Hello Qwerty! Yes, it sounds very likely that you scratched yourself a bit. It doesn't sound like you caused any damage that will not heal soon. As for virginity, most people who feel that that is a valid concept seem to be of the opinion that you need (at least) two people present for anyones virgi...

Re: Lets's redefine Sexually Active!!!
Maybe it would help if health care providers would ask 'are you sexually active with other people'? Because that seems to be what they mean.
But it might also help if we realise that they're not asking 'are you a sexual being?'

Wow, that microbicide technology sounds very interesting. Wouldn't it be cool if there were something that could be worn around the testicles during any kind of sex, and that would result in 'shooting blanks' as if the wearer would have had a vasectomy? I'm imagining something like a pouch, with a l...

Well, I've used the Mirena for ten years or so, and here's my experience. Pros: It's a hands-off method for a longer duration. It contains very low-dosed hormones. I had very little negative side effects. My period stopped altogether for several years. Cons: It gave me some extra acne on my back. So...

I can't say how my body meshes with my gender, because I do not have a sense of gender. So there is nothing for the body to match or clash with. I do not dislike my body, it doesn't feel wrong, but I most likely wouldn't mind if it had a different set of parts, either. Breasts, wide hips, and a vulv...

I'm definitely one of those who can report diminished cramping since I started using a menstrual cup instead of tampons. It's nowhere my previous level of cramping. I've always wanted a detachable uterus. So that I could donate it to someone who wanted to get pregnant but couldn't.
And what about a lube that had the same protective properties as a condom does? Wouldn't that be pretty great?
