The vagina doesn't have any glands so where does lubrication come from? Is there some kind of resovoir like the testicles in boys/men? Also, boys cannot ejaculate semen until puberty. Is vaginal lubrication something that doesn't happen until puberty? Asking because I'm a guy and wanted to know how the system works for opposite sex.

Hi Chocolate Moose,

There are glands located on either side of the vaginal opening, small glands called Bartholin's glands. There are also the Skene's glands below the urethra. These glands produce fluid that lubricates the vagina. I will link a source where you can learn more: https://www.scarleteen.com/article/bodi ... s_and_more

Thank you for the article. I should have framed the question better. It's more about self pleasure. I was wondering regardless of age if a female's vulva/vagina gets wet during it or is that something that only happens with puberty like ejaculation in males.

As a person with a vagina reaches puberty, yes it is common for an increase in vaginal discharge. I will link this additional article that talks about the connection to puberty in more depth: https://www.scarleteen.com/article/bodi ... darn_close
