Are residual orgasms a real thing?

Unread post by roxfoxreal »

Sometimes after I masturbate the next day out of nowhere I’ll get like a mini orgasm? I guess it’s just the contraction of Vaginal muscles but it kind of feels similar to an orgasm just not as powerful. I don’t even have to be thinking about sex or anything - sometimes just when I move like crossing my legs I’ll get it. I’ve talked with my friends and they’ve experienced it too. I know guys can get erections out of the blue and wondered if that’s what we’re experiencing.

Hi RoxFoxReal,

The short answer is yes, you can have vaginal contractions without sex or masturbation. The tricky part is that many of the experiences that come with having a vagina are still understudied by researchers. The general consensus seems to that the contractions usually have less to do with whether you experienced an orgasm recently and more to do with what you're thinking about or doing in the moment.
