Penis Problems?

I am a 17 year old male, I've been trying to understand why I can't retract my foreskin when erect, but can when it's not. When I try to (when it's erect) I only go half way until it hurts, when I go further than that the skin connecting the tip of my penis and the foreskin starts to pull the tip down and hurt. I worry this will hurt when I have sex.

That all sounds normal! The foreskin won’t usually retract all the way to the base of the penis, because its attachment (the frenulum) won’t often allow for that.

During masturbation or sex with a partner, so long as it glides easily over the head, it should not cause you pain. No kind of sex should push it further than it wants to go. Is it painful with masturbation?

It isn't painful with masterbation but I don't retract it because it hurts.

Thanks for that detail! As Heather said, that's a pretty normal way for a foreskin to be. As long as it glides past the head without pain, it won't influence your ability to have sex. As far as masturbation, you don't need to retract it all the way to be able to stimulate the penis, so as long s you don't retract it to the point it's painful when you masturbate, you should be good to go.
