sexual coercion

Unread post by pianolover »

Hello,
If someone said they weren't up for sex and the other person accepted it but later on, they ended up having sex anyway. Is that sexual coercion?

I'm not quite sure what you mean when you say later on they "ended up having sex anyway." Do you mean that person who didn't want to changed their mind and initiated sex? You say the other person accepted it, so I assume they didn't keep bringing it up....?

They changed their mind, and both of them initiated it. The other person did not bring it up again but was a little touchy later and then asked if the person didn't want to have sex still, and the person said they did want to have sex and that they changed their mind.

Hi pianolover,

If it was mutually initiated, and the person who was previously not interested was now eager to have sex, then that doesn't match the general definition of sexual coercion. Sexual coercion refers to things like pestering or emotionally manipulating a partner so their "no" becomes a "yes," rather than saying "no" when you're not in mood and "yes" later on when you are. Does that make sense?
