Difficult challenges in coming out

Unread post by Melamyl »

We've visited this forum to talk about our difficult challenges in coming out to our family and friends even to our partners. And our Admins here being as helpful as ever, they have provided us a lot of ideas to overcome it. But I'm curious that in your own words and actions, how did you actually overcome it? Please feel free to share it here.

I came out to my family last year. All my siblings accepted and loved me, but my conservative mother very harshly rejected me. It was enough to bring me to tears at the time, despite the support I had from the rest of my family. She still hasn’t accepted me today, and my relationship with her is rocky, but living and spending time with open-minded people who accept me put me at ease. You just need to find people who will support you with who you are and don't let other judge you just because you are different.
