Hi GS_6,

Yep, that area plays a part in the genital sensations of sex even if you're not engaging in any kind of anal sexual stimulation, so feeling some sensation in it during masturbation or sex is common.

If you notice certain movements or touches during masturbation tend to trigger that sensation, you could focus on using those. Too, if the sensation is something you enjoy, you could also look into ways to safely engage in anal stimulation during masturbation.
