Re: Time zones

If I remember correctly, you started seeing a therapist recently for your anxiety: have they given you any strategies to use when you get caught up in worries about pregnancy?

Re: Time zones

If a test would make you feel better, you can absolutely take one, but given that you had a normal withdrawal bleed there's no need to test.

Re: Choosing A Menstrual Cup

Yep, when a menstrual cup is overfull, it just leaks the same way that you would get leaks from a tampon that had absorbed all it could. If you do get a cup, you'll get a sense over time of how often you need to empty it to prevent leaks.

Hi cannavaro,

I just wanted to add, on top of the excellent stuff thewrit3r posted, we have a couple of articles you might find useful as you do some more thinking and reflecting on your orientation:

Re: Choosing A Menstrual Cup

I'm not familiar with TPE, but you could certainly get in touch with the company and ask! Also, I just re-read your initial post and saw that you're not allergic to latex (I must have read that wrongly the first time) in which case a Keeper should be just fine for you if you want to try one. As for ...

Re: Choosing A Menstrual Cup

Unfortunately I don't know of any menstrual cups that are made of something other than latex and silicone: silicone is considered to be pretty hypoallergenic, so it could be tough finding one that isn't silicone. If a menstrual cup doesn't work out, there are a few other reusable options you could t...

Re: IUD's - general anesthesia?

Thanks for elaborating on why you're interested in an IUD - that helps. It sounds like you've got a lot going on in your life at the moment on top of this specific worry, so what I would suggest first of all is bumping up finding a counselor/therapist on your priority list. I understand that with su...

Re: IUD's - general anesthesia?

Hi Kabith. I currently have a Mirena IUD, and it was inserted using twilight sedation - I don't remember anything about the procedure. It's not quite the same as a general anaesthetic, but the effect is similar: you remember as much as if you had been put completely under. However, mine was done in ...

Re: Orgasm

It's entirely possible, as Mo and thewrit3r have said, that a sexual relationship just isn't the best fit for the two of you right now. However, if ending the sexual part of your relationship isn't something you want to consider right now, I'd suggest sitting down with him and having a really open t...

Re: Friends or more?

It might be worth bringing that up with your therapist next time you see them, and asking if they'd be willing to work on that with you. Maybe even mention the height thing specifically as a starting point? As for the vulnerability that comes with someone getting to know you better (I wouldn't say i...

Re: Friends or more?

Maybe it would help to remember that pretty much no one is good at something they've never done? (And even for folks who've had plenty of experience, each new partner is different, so there's always a learning curve!) I can't guarantee that if you do end up dating, that it won't ruin your friendship...

Re: Orgasm

It sounds like you're feeling a lot of frustration about wanting to experience orgasm during intercourse, and it can definitely be frustrating to want something and to feel like it's not possible. However, that's just the way sex goes sometimes. Not everyone's body will do absolutely everything, and...

Re: Friends or more?

Can you talk a little bit more about what it is that scares you about possibly falling for him? Is it just the concerns you've mentioned already, about the possibility of ruining the friendship and not knowing what to say, or is there something else you're worried about?

Period concerns

Hi Anonymous77, you mentioned in your other post that your period has gone from being irregular to regular and now slightly irregular again. Sex all by itself doesn't change your period (unless you become pregnant in which case you won't have a period) but bodies are not always predictable, and peri...

Re: so you're not supposed to use soap on your vagina...

Definitely get in touch with your doctor, and see what he recommends. I understand wanting to avoid the longer-term use of antibiotics, but that's something to bring up with your doctor too - there are pros and cons, to be sure, but a healthcare provider will be able to give you the best information...

Re: so you're not supposed to use soap on your vagina...

It's possible that the soap is irritating the entrance to your urethra and making UTIs more likely, so switching soaps is definitely worth a try. Something like Dr Bronner's is usually pretty non-irritating for most folks: it's a castile soap (made with olive oil or coconut oil) and those tend to be...

Re: How to deal with wanting a relationship?

Wanting a romantic and/or sexual relationship is something most people experience at some point, often for the first time in their teens, so the answer to "why is this happening" is just because you're human! :) It's understandable that you have that strong want for a relationship without ...
