Re: Weird things about affection

We all show affection in different ways, and whilst you're right that we have stuck things like ass holding and lip kissing in the boxes labelled "romantic" and "sexual" in our culture there is no reason why they have to feel that way for everyone. I also think that wanting addit...

Re: Anxiety and fears

For folks who have a religious upbringing and little sex education like you, I often think of anxiety as giving guilty feelings a voice, like trying to rationalise feelings of shame by attaching them to real-world "consequences" even where you haven't done anything to create a pregnancy ri...

Re: Ovulation?

Hi Digdawg, Whilst the progesterone only minipill may increase the chances of benign ovarian cysts, the combined pill actually reduces the likelihood. It is still possible that the pain you are describing comes from a cyst, though many things can cause abdominal pain. Ovarian cysts often disappear b...

Re: Exploring sexuality respectfully

Hi! So I think you've hit on a really important question, and I'm not promising to have a perfectly complete answer in just one post but I do have a couple of ideas about this. 1. Fantasy is fantasy 2. Respect and attraction aren't mutually exclusive. Let me elaborate. My first point is that your fa...

Re: Anxiety and fears

Okay, if you're finding more anxieties to add onto your existing worries this is DEFINITELY something to talk to your therapist about. Have you managed to do that yet? Asking where we source our information is not offensive! It's a good question to ask when consuming any kind of media. Our informati...

Re: penis size?????

Hi there, Circumcision shouldn't have a big impact on the size of your penis, no. All penises are different, and grow at different rates. If you read the article I linked to in the post you're referring to you'll get a lot more info. Also, you referred to someone else's size as "good", but...

Re: Dysphoria getting worse, I don't know what to do

Is it usually just you, your mum and sister at home? If so, would it be possible for them to practice gendering you correctly when you are at home just the three of you? You are right that it's really hard to find that "something" when money is tight. Perhaps your mum or sister have a piec...

Hi BuddyBoi, Definitely nothing to be ashamed of, and like you say kink shaming in general doesn't help anyone! It's totally fine to keep some things as fantasy too, either because you don't have a partner who's into it too, or because some of our fantasies are just that - fantasy, not something we ...

Hi BishoneninBloom, Sounds like you've found some pretty good community online. I think you're right that university - even if you're living at home - could provide opportunities you haven't even thought of yet. Things like finding community and meeting with new people can open all kinds of doors - ...

Re: Is my penis size normal for a 15 year old?

Yep sounds normal! Penis size and shape varies wildly, and they keep growing and changing well into your late teens or early twenties. Often they'll grow faster in length than in girth too.

Re: Anxiety and fears

You're best placed to know if the test will pause your anxiety or just keep feeding into it. Ultimately yes, you want to be in a place where you don't worry about getting pregnant from things that don't cause pregnancy. If in the meantime the test helps you control the anxiety, then I think it's oka...

That's so frustrating, I'm sorry :/ Besides what Sam and I said above, I've not got huge amounts of new ideas for how to meet new people in person right now, unless you were to make a point of speaking to people at work/school that you haven't chatted much to before. Re: Breasts??

Hi there Notaghost1134 :) Good question! It's good to be familiar with what your own breasts feel like but that's because changes to how they feel, e.g. new lumps or ones that grow can be a sign of breast cancer. That doesn't mean that all lumps and bumps are bad though! Breasts are made up of all k...

Re: Anxiety and fears

It's understandable that if you don't have a lot of a sex education already that you don't feel so confident in what does/doesn't pose a pregnancy risk. Sure, you can take pregnancy tests if they help with the anxiety but it sounds like trying to get to a point of feeling more in control and less wo...

Hey A.Fiend1983 It sounds like you've been finding the place you live pretty isolating so it's understandable that you're looking for ways to find people you actually have something in common with. I get where your mom is coming from by suggesting volunteering - the assumption being that you have so...

Re: Validation of Trauma and Intuition

Hey BuddyBoi, I really don't think you're crazy or oversensitive. It's deeply awful that someone in your life who was meant to care about and protect you showed you time and again that he was not a safe person to be yourself around. Verbal and emotional abuse are abuse. The things your father said w...

Re: I'm worried about romantic attraction.

Hi BunsenBurn, You know, being 17 and having never felt romantic love seems pretty normal to me. A few things have to come together for romantic relationships to be on the cards. Part of that is about your own development, as different people start having e.g. romantic feelings at different ages, bu...
