Re: Having problems enjoying a relationship to its fullest

Hi Celeste, First, I want to emphasize to you that there really is no "normal." There is no normal way to have sex, no normal way to be in love, no normal way to be in a relationship, and let alone no normal way to be a woman, or just a person! But gosh it is hard to fully accept this when...

Re: Dating with an Expiry Date

Hi moonlight, I love all these thoughts you've just expressed. There really is no one way a relationship "should" look. Rather, just like you said, relationships are a byproduct of the people and the circumstances involved. A relationship can involve looking towards the future, or, as Sam ...

Re: spotting midcycle - on the pill

Hi bb2509, Welcome to Scarleteen! There is no answer we can give you as to why this is happening - your doctor is going to be the rest resource for that. However, I can assure you that fluctuation in period flow, spotting, and cramping is totally normal and something the majority of people with vagi...

Re: first time dating/not sure if I'm attracted to my girlfriend

Hi yay.hamlett, Welcome to Scarleteen! This is a really difficult situation to be in. I first want to commend you on understanding where you stand and knowing what you are and are not comfortable with in a relationship. However, I'd urge you to really fight the feeling of guilt. We do not choose who...

Re: I feel like a burden?

What do you think is causing it to still itch at your mind? (Are you noticing any physical/verbal cues from your partner that insinuate that it is bothering him? Or, on the other hand, are there any reasons that might be causing you to be thinking of yourself as a burden even if you know it is not t...

Re: Meaningless jealousy?

I want to tackle this idea of being jealous of her - because I think it is never as simple as that. Jealousy is like a signal that something is off, that something is making you uncomfortable or not completely safe in your relationship. Maybe it is a lack of trust, an insecurity, a need or want that...

Hi kindascared, It sounds like you are still dealing with uncertainty or jealousy regarding the relationship. Have you thought about any potential ways that this jealousy could be something else (manifesting itself into the feelings of jealousy, like Karyn explained)? And have you thought about any ...

Re: Plan b questions

Hi Lucli, As Karyn said, you want to wait a minimum of 14 days since sexual contact - and usually one can be fairly sure those results are accurate. However, to verify the results, if that is something you want to do, you can take another test the following week if your period has still not come. An...

Re: Plan b questions

Are there strategies or self-care mechanisms you have found that work for you? In regards to reminding to reaffirm yourself, give yourself love, and reflect - I think journaling is always an amazing option. Just sitting down and spending even just ten minutes a day writing - whether about your day, ...

Re: Porn: My boyfriend's view and my view.

Hi Arasia, Have you ever tried to have a conversation with your boyfriend about these kind of thoughts regarding porn? I think giving him some history and background on why porn makes you feel so uncomfortable could help him understand - even if it does feel like a ramble to you. I find it is always...

Re: When Sex/masturbation is not good for you?

Hi Athrun,

There really are not any specific reasons that someone is not supposed to have sex or masturbate unless they don't want to or consent is not given. It is a decision that is completely up to you (and your partner if they are involved).

Hi lucli, I'm glad that first article was useful for you.
