2020 In Review: You Were The Worst, But At Least We Did Okay

It feels a fitting start to open this by telling you that in the most 2020 way possible, we -- including me, the founder of this place, who first launched it frozen in my basement apartment with the entirely unuseful radiator in the ceiling  -- forgot our 22nd anniversary earlier this month.

Camp Scarleteam 2018: Burton or Bust!

Well, hello everybody! It’s Heather, founder and director of Scarleteen, and Al, your friendly neighborhood sexeducator and volunteer camp leader, here to make a quick ask for your support in a thing that helps keep our team doing all the good work that we do.

The Campfire Strikes Back: Help Us Make a Staff Camp Sequel!

Heather, Troublepants and Moo with Scarleteen flagLast summer, we made a big, amazing thing happen for the first time. We brought nearly all of our staff and volunteers from across the United States, Europe, Canada and even Australia, to one beautiful place for a five-day staff campout and epic team-building retreat. And we couldn't have done it without the financial help we got from hundreds of our fantastic supporters (you rock!).

Help send us to camp!

This summer, we're making a big thing happen we've never been able to do before: we're bringing all our staff and volunteers -- from the United States, Europe,  Canada, and even our staffer in Australia -- to one place for a giant staff campout and team-building retreat.

Scarleteen Direct Service Response Time Changes

Just a quick update about a change starting at Scarleteen, for those who use our direct services.

With both our message boards and text service, we have told our users for many years now that they can expect a reply from a staff member or volunteer within 24 hours, though most have usually received replies more quickly than that, often even within minutes at certain times of day.

Our Volunteers: To Sex::Tech or Bust!

I'm writing today to make a modest funding ask of our allies and our readers capable of financial contributions on behalf of our volunteers.

What we're looking to do is to raise enough funds for all of our volunteers, who are able, to fly to San Francisco this April and attend the sex::tech conference together.
