Persad was specifically created to serve gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) community. They also have an AIDS service organization.

The staff and professionals there are trained to respond to emotional needs of the community and their families/friends. They offer a variety of counseling programs and services (Including:Individual, Family, and Couples Counseling; Group Therapy; Support and Educational Groups; Psychiatric Evaluation and Medication Management; Substance Abuse Services; Intimate Partner Abuse; Transgender Services; Counseling and resources for HIV+.

Persad is located in Pittsburgh, PA with an outreach center in Washington, PA and serving all of Western Pennsylvania.
