Sorry for posting so many topics.. I have so many problems/concerns.

Has anyone ever secretly known about parents' drug usage?

When I was 10, I discovered my parents' pot. At the time I didn't know it wasn't that bad of a drug. I had always been told drugs are bad, they can kill you, you can go to jail. So when I found it, I was devastated. I still struggle with this today (11 years later).

My parents would go to our building at night for hours. Then they started bringing it into the house in their room. Have the door shut up for hours. When they opened it, there was the awfulest smell and be full of smoke (my room was across the hall).

I laid in bed for hours crying every night. I was too afraid to say anything. I'm not sure if they still do it since we moved about 3 years ago. But it still eats me inside. I don't understand why they'd want to harm themselves like that.

Around that time is when I started noticing them stealing small items from places (a cassette from a stand in the mall is what I remember most). Because of these two things I lost a lot of respect for them.

How have others dealt with this?

I'm afraid this is one where I can't be of much help.

I strongly suspect that growing up after Just-Say-No made all of this have a much bigger impact than it had on those of us who grew up before that started, and with my parents and alcohol and/or drug use, this was never anything undiscussed or kept secret.

I suspect other folks may have something more helpful to add, but I'm certainly available to listen if you want to talk about how distressed you feel about these things.
