Scarleteen recently endorsed a new project, Make It Better -- http://makeitbetterproject.org/ -- which focuses on how young people and your allies can MAKE things better for LGBT youth with bullying.

This is a project mostly about what YOU and your peers can do, so what I'd really, really love is to make something from Scarleteen that is really about and comes from all of you.

Understanding that anonymity is important to so many of you here, and wanting to respect that in what we do, what would y'all say to each taking a picture of yourself holding up a piece of paper/sign in which you have written down SOME way YOU have or can make things better when it comes to bullying or harassment in schools (and this can be about something other than LGBT, since that's so not the only place bullying happens). That might be being a good ally, that might be being a safe person to come out to, that might be writing an op-ed to a local paper, talking to a principal or teacher, participating in the Day of Silence, calling out friends who are bullying, what have you.

In that image, you can be totally behind that paper if that's what you want, it's you repping that counts, not anyone seeing who you are.

Once I had a nice pile of these, I could edit them all together into a video we can share.

Thoughts?

Wow this sounds really cool, its kind of similar to a project I'm doing in IT at the moment, were making a video each on a world issue (pretty broad!). I'd love to be part of this, where would I send or upload the image?

Fortunate ones, I swear."

Don't know yet, because you're the first person to respond!

Let's see if we hear from anyone else, and then I'll keep you posted! [Smile]
