So, you've been dealing with something rough, and you could really use another user dealing with something the same or similar to talk to and be someone to check in with you from time to time.

Want that?

Leave a post here about what you need and are looking for, or even what you're available to provide support with for someone in need. Then you and/or someone else can start a thread about your issue and make a point of checking in with each other; having the buddy you need.

Hey, if anyone ever needs someone to talk to, I'll be here. I know I'm just a stranger on the Internet, but I've had more than my share of hard times and troubling experiences in my short and futile life, so I think I can understand (at least on some miniscule level) what you're going through :^)

Hey just_curious, thanks for the offer! [Smile] Heather had asked if there were any areas in particular that people feel they are well-equipped to support someone with, so what would be your special areas?

Let's see... I know quite a bit about eating disorders, depression, and anger management. I'm also familiar with cutting and other types of self-abuse.

(By the way, I really like your signature! Monty Python is one of mmy favorite British comedies.)

I could be a buddy for anyone who's been dumped, anyone who's been coerced into sex, and anyone who's feeling frustrated because they haven't been sexual with another person in a long time or who haven't been sexual with another person ever. I could also be a buddy for anyone with body image issues.

(Fallchild, sorry to read that you're going through such a difficult time! Perhaps you would like to start a new thread? I think many people here would be happy to listen and talk with you [Smile] )

I'd be willing to listen to and help someone!

I have personal experience in body image issues, depression, and discrimination(mostly faithism and sexism). And one of my family members works at the hospital dealing with pregnancy and teen pregnancy all the time, so if you have questions about that, (or breast feeding, adoption, etc) I can find out the answer.

Or if you just want someone to talk to about your problem, whether I have personal experience in it or not, I'd love to help you. =)

I don't think I'd be much of a good supportive buddy for the time being, as my depression occasionally completely clouds my rational sense of judgment and ability to emphatize.
But I could use a buddy regarding body image and/or self confidence issues. I am seeing a counselor regarding these, but my appointments are few and far between.

I would love to help someone who is having difficulty with mental illness or with their family, particularly parents.

I could be a buddy for anyone with depression issues or GLBT related issues, particularly with parent conflict over orientation.

Oh sorry, I'm not looking for help I was just offering to help someone else if they are having issues with mental illnesses (like depression for instance) or parents (controlling parents for example). Sorry I should have been more clear.

I can be a buddy for anyone who has a disability or chronic illness, a family member with a disability or chronic illness, a close friend with a disability or chronic illness, or is dating someone a disability or chronic illness.

Also, I would appreciate connecting with individuals affected by disability or illness myself!
