My friend just posted this on her journal:
Here's the situation: I NEED to get into this program in Chicago called SAFE-Alternatives. I won't get into details, suffice to say that by this point it's a matter of life or death. My insurance [medicaid] refuses to cover, because I live in New York, and they don't have out of network/state benefits. My ICM told me that when she was younger, she had the same problem, and she got into a program in Florida by getting mental health grants and scholarships ... Does ANYONE know of ANY place I can get a mental health grant or scholarship, any place I get get money, any place that would be willing to help fund me getting into SAFE?

I'm sorry if this post isn't appropriate for the nature of the board or something but I know that my friend really needs help [she used to go to the program but then 'graduated' a few years ago] and was wondering if anyone knew of any solutions. I've been looking all over the web and can't find much information.
