hi all....well for the past two years i've been depressed all the time. Even on "good days" i normally cry myself to sleep. I know my friends talk about me behind my back...i've never heard them, but i know my friends and i know that they do. Also, i've been friends with some of them for 6 years...and one for my entire life, but they "never have time" to call me, or talk to me online, or come over, or come to any of my games (i play 3 sports a year...) but they can always manage to make it to the games that are taking place at the EXACT same place on the SAME DAY as my game to watch a guy friend they have play, that they've only known 1 year and he can't even play cuz of his grades and they go watch him sit on the bench. Also, my parents hate me, i'm sure. They always blame ME, get mad at ME because of THEIR problems, and if they have to help out to drive to an away game they complain to me about it all the time and they hate my friends too. Whenever they come over (by some miracle...) my parents yell at me AND my friends...but they never do that to my sister. They reduce me to tears on a weekly basis and forgot my birthday. It feels like i just have a huge tornado inside me sucking all happiness away...please help me!

First up, ditch your friends. They're not really your friends if they're not making any effort. Meet other people. Here are some way to make new friends.

How to Approach People/Meeting People http://www.scarleteen.com/forum/Forum3/HTML/001665.html http://www.scarleteen.com/forum/Forum3/HTML/000728.html http://www.scarleteen.com/forum/Forum3/HTML/001665.html http://www.scarleteen.com/forum/Forum3/HTML/000774.html http://www.scarleteen.com/forum/Forum3/HTML/001643.html

Secondly, you are not the first tenager in the history of mankind to feel like you're not getting along with your folks. It happens to EVERYBODY. Happened to me. Happened to my sister. Happened to all my friends. Incidentally, in a survey of parents, an overwhlming number stated that raising adolescents is/was one of the most stressful times in their lives and marriages (for those who were married, anyway). It's not exactly a picnic for them either. What can you do about it? You can try to be on your best behavior. Learn to compromise. Reach out to them. Instead of expecting your folks to ask you how your day was, why not ask them the same? Or invite them to go do something with you, like see a movie, or talk over coffee. And if they complain about drivingyou to your sporting events and stuff, then tell them they are not obligated to do so and have someone else drive. As for your sister, **you** might think they never yell at them, but she's probably thinking the same about you. the grass is always greener on the other side.
