Hey everyone, i thought that i should let everyone know here (as i've just let everyone know in the workplace) that i'm expecting!!

If there's any other moms, looking for support and love, or just if anyone wants to ask questions in general, i'd be glad to answer!

Well, I'm not a mom YET, but my BF and I are both 19 (we'll both be done with college in May just for the record) and we've been trying to have a baby for 5 months with no luck. I have an illness called lupus which is FINALLY in remission so now is the best time for me to get pregnant, so, my BF and I are praying it happens soon. I had one miscarriage when I was 15 (because my lupus was active at the time), it was very hard to deal with but I accepted it was not my time then. I thought it would happen right away this time, but, no :::sigh:::

How long did it take you to get pregnant? Were you trying? If you have any tips or want to send some baby dust, please do! I've been trying to keep my hopes up about this, maybe it will happen soon for me too.

Actually, I have a condition that causes me to have cystic ovaries, so most months I won't even release an egg... AND I was on the pill (later found out to be expired) and I god pregnant... So the whole experience was interesting!

I'm not a big believer in old wives' tales, so I'm not really sure on tips that might help you to get pregnant - although studies show that taking a folic acid supplement before conception, and during pregnancy is beneficial, and may lessen the chance of neural tube defects.

In the book i'm reading it does say that the best time to conceive is during a time when your lupus is relatively quiet, and your kidney function is stable, and has been for atleast 6 months. Don't worry... I figure that babies come when you probably least expect them. It was just my time to become a mom... and under the circumstances, which was extremely remarkable... maybe you'll turn up just as lucky.

I'll send you some baby dust... and hope that you become pregnant, too Take Care!

Wow, you certainly have a little miracle baby then! Obviously your little one has a very important reason for coming into your life, even if it happened so unexpectedly!

Thanks for the good luck words. And you're very right about the lupus being in remission, that's why we started trying, been in remission for 7 months and trying for 5. I want to have my kids when I'm young and healthiest!

Hopefully it will happen before my lupus flares up again. But my BF and I aren't in too big of a rush, whether it happened this month or it happens a year from now.....it will be wonderful! Take care, lots of luck to you!!
