have not posted in a while, have been really busy... sorry

Anyways, i was in my room the other day, and was masturbating, when my mom walks in with a load of laundry!!! we haven't talked about it since. a few questions for you,

a. what should i say, if anything, to my mom about this,

b. how do i say, basically, that i want to masturbate, without saying specifficaly that i want to masturbate?

c. is it, well, *normal* for girls to masturbate? i mean, you hear about guys masturbating all the time, but not so much girls. is it socially acceptable for girls to masturbate, and

d. if, say, i was also putting a finger in my butthole while masturbating, is that harmful to my body? i heard somewhere that it is dangerous to do that.

would appreciate input,

I'm sure this was an awkward situation for you and your mother ... I'm not sure why it needs to be talked about though. You don't need to tell your mother that you masturbate, and you certainly don't need her permission.

It is normal for girls to masturbate. It's also normal for girls not to masturbate. It depends on the individual (and this goes for guys, too).

Putting your finger into your anus isn't going to be harmful to your body as long as you're not hurting yourself (and if you are, you'll feel pain and should stop).

I'll move this to Sex Basics, b/c i think it fits better over there.
