I've been trying to find acoustic songs by a girl or by a male that could be sung by a girl to learn to try out for my school's V-show. I tend to be more of an alto with a lower women's voice, but I'm pretty flexible vocally.

What acoustic songs do you like? (Or songs that could still work being accompanied by just one guitar or piano)

As many replies as possible would be great!

I have a huge list of songs because I play guitar and piano! XD I'll narrow it down a bit.

Blackbird - the Beatles (capo on 2nd for a woman's range [Smile] )
Talk of the Town - Jack Johnson
Space Oddity - David Bowie
2am - Anna Nalick (both this and space oddity work really well as a duet if you have any one for back up vocals)
Penny and Me - Hanson (remember them? This is their "new" stuff. It's fabulous)
Sullen Girl or Never is a Promise or I Know - Fiona Apple (Yeah, pretty much ANY Fiona Apple is amazing. It's just tougher to find the sheet music)
Building a Mystery - Sarah Mclachlan (You probably could do any of her songs... This one works best on guitar, though)
Fairytale - Sara Bareilles

What you can also do, is pick some of your favourite songs and head on down to www.ultimate-guitar.com (Are we allowed to post links here? I'm pretty sure the site is PG-13 or lower). You can look up chords for the songs there for guitar.

Can you tell me more about what a V-show is? [Smile]

(Bunbun, I have never heard a female cover Space Oddity. That'd be awesome!)
