Since often enough, some old-timers show back up either to ask a new question years after they have last been here, or just to poke in, say hello, and let us know how they've been -- and since we've been around a decade now so that keeps happening more often -- I figured we should have a space for y'all.

Are you back or having a visit after being gone for a while? We love it when you say hello and fill us in on how things have been for you. [Smile]

By the by, because I know she's too humble to do it herself I just wanted to give a cheer to Alice today (who we first met pretty much right after what she wrote about went down) and point you to a fantastic article she got published at RH Reality Check: http://www.rhrealitycheck.org/blog/2008/09/16/teen-parenting-against-odds

Whoohoo!

That is so awesome!! Thanks for linking us, Heather. Big kudos to you, Alice, for such a wonderfully worded and insightful article. [On a side note, I was actually thinking of you this morning, because there was a girl on my bus who couldn't have been much more than 17 or 18, and she had a baby with her that was maybe a couple of months old - in my conservative town, that's not a common sight - and I was watching them and thinking "wow, I am nearly 24, and if I got pregnant now, I would just be horribly overwhelmed". I don't know how you and other teen moms do it, and I have nothing but respect for you.]

Congrats Alice! That's really fantastic! And the article was very well-written, too. I hope you're going to be a regular there. You're really great at it.

Thanks guys! I actually had a really hard time writing it. I did research to remind myself how I felt back in the day when I was a new mom, on here and in my private journal, and it totally freaked me out. I almost didn't finish writing it, but then I realized that I really wanted and needed to so I busted it out in 2 hours at like 3am. [Smile] That is how I wrote all my school papers, too - minutes before I handed them in but always got an A.
