Hello, you guys are my last resort. I've searched every where online, even the offical sites and I couldnt find an answer. This weekend is my friend's birthday and he, another friend and I wanted to take a road trip to Canada for the weekend. I'm 17 (18 in June, cant wait!!), I have a passport (i know i dont need one), a Birth Certificate and a Drivers Liscense. I would really hate for us to drive 8 hours and get to the border and for me not be allowed in cus im not 18. So does anyone know the rules on this kind of stuff??

On another note, I just got an internship at Planned Parenthood, I start Monday!

Actually, a passport IS now required to cross the US-Canada border, it's a fairly new rule, but you can't get across with something like a driver's licence anymore.

As for getting across the border being only 17, it shouldn't be a problem as long as you have the proper identification and you're not transporting illegal drugs or anything like that.

If you're looking for more information, the official website for the government of Canada may be useful (it's a bit dense, but you can do a search for the specific information you want):
