I think I must have the most ecclectic combinations of songs wedged in my head that I've ever known: Dead or Alives You Spin Me Round, NIN's Hurt, Slipknot's Wait and Bleed and My Ruin's Speak and Destroy. Oh AND Don't Bother by Shakira. As you can imagine, it gets a little funky in my head with so many songs swirling about.

Headlock, by Imogen Heap. Actually, most of "Speak for Yourself" is incredible. Hm, that's something coming from a girl who listens mostly to metal [Razz] .Speaking of which, "Gaia II" (Mago de Oz's new cd) is GREAT! For those of you who like metal in spanish, download "La Voz Dormida". Or "En Nombre de Dios". Or "Diabulus in Música". The list goes on...

I swear Hallie, you are so awesome.

I love classical music of almost any type. I listen to it constantly. You know how you see people blasting rock or rap so loud in their cars that it makes everything vibrate? Well, I have a blast out war when that happens. The looks you get when conducting at a stoplight are priceless. [Smile]

Chiming in with some classical faves: Mars and Neptune, from Holst's The Planets. As well as Stabat Mater, Pergolesi's version. (Probably no one here has ever heard of it, but it's incredibly gorgeous music.)

What about JUPITER?! [Smile] It's so happy! Mars is my second favorite of the planets, though. 5-4 meter is so powerful!

Aww, Lauren you're so sweet! Go, blasting classical in the car! I found my soulmate!

A fellow female music geek in California- soulmate, indeed! [Big Grin]

Holst's "The Planets" is one of my favorites. Ohhh, I've loved Pachelbel's Canon in D minor ever since I was a kid, too. I fall asleep to that one! Too bad it's overplayed at weddings -_- It's just so gorgeous to me.

I saw Imogen Heap perform the other night, and wow, that girl just blows me away! I'm not all that into female singers (most of my CD collection is overwhelmingly male). But she puts on a good show -- gets up on stage by herself, plays some keyboards an pushes buttons on samplers, and makes it sound like she's got 3 or 4 people backing her. But when you look up, it's just her! She's got this fascinating voice, and her style it just a little different. Listening to her makes me feel all girly. Currently, I have "Goodnight and Go" playing over and over on MySpace. In the car, I'm listening to "Come Here Boy" (ohh, that song just oozes sex!).

Anyway, if you wanna check out someone interesting, try some Imogen Heap.

We did a Stabat Mater in chorus a while back. Bad chorester that I am, I'm not sure whether or not it was that version. In any case, it was very beautiful. (So says another Californian music geek. : ))

Verdi is probably one of my favourite classical composers, though I pretty much love them all. Classical music=life/love/joy. As does metal. : )

I love the song Mr. Brightside. Usually I don't go for that kind of music, but there's just something about that one song that makes me go "oooohhh..." The lyrics really hit home for me.

At the moment, "Bombs Over Baghdad" by Outkast is stuck in my head! Also, 'La Pared' By Shakira.

Songs that are so different, yet both seem to be mushing around in my brain.

Right now I'm on an ozzfest kick to where I am only listening to bads who are performing.

All that Remains - This darkened heart (new cd Fall of Ideals comes out July 11! I can't wait!)
System of a down - This cocaine makes me feel like I'm on this song.
Atreyu - Ex's and Oh's, Flesh Tomb (And right now I'm listening to Remebrance Ballad - God I love Atreyu!)
Otep - My confesstion (Otep isn't going to ozzfest, but this chick is AWESOME!)
Avenged Sevenfold - Unholy Confessions
Disturbed - The sickness
Basically, I love all the ozzfests bands. Most of my favorite bands will be there.

And not to mention my favorites Caliban, blood has been shed, As I lay dying, Unearth, Arch Enemy, 36 Crazyfists, and many more that are on a playlist on my computer at work repeating the same great songs every day.

And I say thank you for the scars
And the guilt and the pain
Every tear I've never cried
Has sealed your fate.
Did you take me for a fool
or were you just too blind to see
that every effort made has failed
and there is no destroying me?
