Hey fools: Just some notes for you because you're new.

In general, it's best to establish clear topics or use existing ones.

In other words, what do you want people to talk about here? What their career goals are and why? If so, then it's best to post a topic whose title says that clearly, or find an existing topic on same.

If you just want to talk about yourself in general, setting up a single thread for yourself in the Village People forum is the best place for that.

But do understand that this is a message board, not a chat server. In other words, not everyone will go into every topic and post, and despite having a large userbase, people aren't always actively posting 24/7. So, if you're frustrated with the silence, rather than continuing to post to abate that, a chat server might be more of what you're looking for.

Lastly, you'll find that most foibles are easy to avoid just by carefully reading the guidelines, directions in applicable topics or forums, or the "new to scarleteen" thread in site help and service.

the resources Miz S spoke of can be found in: New to Scarleteen? and board etiquette

as for becoming a doctor, i'll applaud that.

i have also been working towards medical training. right now, i'm in a medical school, studying preventative medicine in a masters degree program. if i may offer some realistic advice: have a specific goal, forget everything you've ever heard about a fat salary, and study HARD. really HARD. and be well rounded. all science and no arts makes jack a dull geek.

i don't know how the process goes in Australia, but i can tell you plenty about what you have to do to get into med school in America, and I can tell you what my med student friends go through on a daily basis.
