There is this event called Burning Man. You can read about what it is here: http://www.burningman.com/whatisburningman/

Have any of you participated in Burning Man? And what was it like for you?

Burning Man is a pretty big deal out in Berkeley and SF. I've never gone since I have school during the festival, but I hear it's pretty intense. Some local politics out in the NV desert where the event is held may pose problems for festival organizers this year, though.

I'd like to go sometime, though. It's a lot of art, music, people being weird, no water, no baths. Like Woodstock without a stage or bands. and on the last day, the Man goes up in flames.

I think you can find stuff about Burning Man at the SF Chronicle website

Yeah, it kind of seemed to me like it was a Woodstock-like event. It does sound really intense. I kind of want to go sometime, but I don't think I could deal with the heat. It sounds very inspiring though.

I've heard good things about Burning Man, and it's one of the festivals I'd love to get to eventually

If I ever do manage to make it, I'll make sure to do a write up and post it here

But until then, I'll stick to my local annual festival of love here in Kiwiland

The Gathering looks fun too. I wonder if MD has any of these kinds of things... I want to go to one.
