Oh, woe is me, woe is me. *lays hand dramatically over eyes and sweeps herself backwards* WOE! WOE!

*nervous cough* Ok, nevermind that. Er...if yer wondering what I'm so bloody upset about, let me tell you. I'll give you all the cliffsnotes version. If you want the whole trying story, check out my personal thread under "Village People".

I worked at a concession stand at this "Jamboree" concert over the weekend, hosted by a local radio station, Q101. It wasn't a fun experience, and, long story short, due to the jerks that were running the concession section of the venue making me stay at my empty cart for an hour and a half after my shift was over, I missed the opportunity to meet two bands I love, Papa Roach and Linkin Park. GRRRRRRARGH!

Ok, you all are probably wondering why I'm sharing, right? Well, for starters, 'cuz I need to repeatedly vent (I'm ever so pissed), and also, to start a thread. Has anyone here ever met a well known celebrity, mayhaps two or three? Or did you, like I, narrowly miss your chance? If you were able to meet said celebrities, what were they like? Nice, creepy, as*sholes? Do share, do share!

whee! i have way too many stories of being backstage. i have several pix of me with bands i've met. i have a large stack of autographed CDs. i even have an audio clip of metalking to fran and dougie of travis.

well, my best suggestion if you want to meet a band is **NOT** to be a groupie. just wait up after the show by the tour bus. say hi and get an autograph. or go see smaller shows.

Hee, I wasn't being a groupie, though I saw quite a few of those.

I was technically staff for the day of the Tweeter Center (that's the venue the concert was at), so I had clearance to go almost anywhere I wanted backstage. Since it was an outdoor venue, the bands all had their buses parked at this "dock" behind the kitchens. I wandered through that area a few times, and its where I would've met the bands, if I hadn't been forced to stay at my sold-out pretzel cart for a good long while after my shift was over. *le sigh*

Hee-hee, you think so? I suppose it's ok, though I like "The End", I think its called, in New Orleans. The DJs on Q101 tend to piss me off. Ever since they hired Mancow to do the morning show, all The DJs talk about is porn stars and marijuana. *cough* But the music's good.
