Sometimes electronica like Fatboy Slim, sometimes classical tango music, sometimes eclectic finnish music like Hedningarna, sometimes classic R&B like Otis Redding, sometimes old Jazz like Billie Holliday, sometimes world pop like Shakira...all depends.
But I can likely guarantee you that if it were somthing in today's top 40 mainstream radio, I'd be more inclined to scream than smooch.
this may be wierd but me and my bf like hanging by a moment by lifehouse. it's kinda upbeat so we don't kiss really slow but the message is perfect for me and him. he doesn't know it but when i'm alone i hear this song and tear up everytime. because that song is exactly how i feel about him. i know, awwww how sweet.

it's too bad my boyfriend doesn't enjoy music the way i do (live breathe eat sleep).
but the first time we made out, it was to AIR Moon Safari. It's good mood music, very sexy and relaxing. And it's French. My boyfriend loves all things French.
Here's some songs that I like when i'm in the mood:
Jeff Buckley "Last Goodbye" Sarah McLachlan "Possession" Black Lab "Time Ago" U2 "With or With You" (sexiest song EVER!) Bush "Body" Orgy "Stitches" Econoline Crush "All That You Are (X3)" 3 Colours Red "Beautiful Day" Massive Attack "Teardrop" Placebo "Every You Every Me" Stabbing Westward "What Do I Have to Do?" Nine Inch Nails "Closer" (yeah, it turns me on, but I think it'd scare the sorts of guys I go out with) Goo Goo Dolls "Iris" Smashing Pumpkins "Mayonaise" Garbage "#1 Crush" Sting "Fields of Gold" Toad the Wet Sprocket "All I Want"
Honorable Mention to Groove Armada

....it differs, it really differs. Thankfully, we both have really decent CD collections. And a pretty similar taste.
So it depends on our mood. Or what kind of music is on when the mood strickes us.....we sometimes like stuff like endorphin (the "skin" album is great!), Moby, Kruder & Dorfmeister and Air (the Virgin Suicides Soundtrack is great, too) - IMHO things with few lyrics aren't as irritating and don't make you want to sing along! - , sometimes prefer good old Cure or U2, Something for Kate...or well, the more I think about it, whatever music happens to be there. It really doesn't matter much, does it?
I don't know the name or the artist . . . but it's the 4th song on the Matrix soundtrack. Absolutely perfect. Very intense. It switches back and forth very smoothly from a cello and a piano I think and very high-tech music with all these sound effects. Okay, maybe it's just hard to explain.
I have to agree, "Hanging By a Moment", as well as all of Lifehouse's songs would be great to makeout to! hehe! Lifehouse has been my favorite band for almost 5 months now... they're starting to get really big and they're getting alot of air play! They rule The lead singer, Jason Wade, is such a hottie!!!

Jesus Christ Superstar..the soundtrack did it...i know it's quirky or whateva. But it's just got a funky groove...and the song "I don't know how to love him" is one of her favorites... We also listen to the CD I made for her or Led Zeppelin. Anything from the 60's is just made for gettin into the groove.
I don't do a whole lot of making out, but as far as songs go, I can think of a few. Almost every song on Sarah McLachlan's "Fumbling Towards Ecstacy" or Delerium's "Karma" would be appropriate. I think somebody mentioned it, but "Sugar Water" by Cibo Matto is a dead sexy song, it really is. I like that Lifehouse song, too. There are also some good Tori Amos songs, and some songs by A Perfect Circle. I could go on and on, I listen to waaay too much music.

Anything that's happy hardcore. Seriously. Something about the cheesy lyrics and piano makes it better (But then I love happy hardcore anyways)..
My fave would have to be Brisk + Trixxy "Eyeopener" but failing that (and any other H.Hardcore) it would be Delerium "Silence", MJ Cole "Crazy Love" or (shock! horror!) Ozzy Osborne "Ghost behind my eyes"..
hmm... best music to make out to... depends really, i think... maxwell is a definite good choice especially maxwell's urban hang suite... ben harper is a great one, too. elliot smith is sweet. and sometimes you've just gotta throw in dave matthews band's crash cd. great stuff right there. then again there's nothing like the sound of breathing and sighing...
