Hi,

So I have been on birth control for about 2 years now. Just recently, my pharmacy switched pill brands on me (same dosage, just a different generic brand). I am on my second month with this new brand, and am almost done with my second week.

About 1 week ago (so the end of the first week), my boyfriend and I have sex without a condom. Also on that day, I forget to take my pill at the regular time, and end up having to take it the next day, about 12-20 hours late. I have not been late on a pill since.

Now, one week later, I am experiencing some breast tenderness, and a stomach virus feeling (though there has been a little virus going around). Though I read my pill pack, and it said a backup method was not needed with missing one pill, I am a little nervous. Can you guys help me clarify and get a little peace of mind?

The pill pack is going to be the best authority here; really all we can do is defer to what's written in it as the manufacturers are going to be the best experts as to what will and will not impact its effectiveness.

Also, when a pregnancy does occur, physical symptoms won't show up a few days later; it takes a bit longer.
