Wanted to share a cheery note that the Scottish Parliament voted for equal marriage yesterday, 105 votes to 18. (I gotta say, Go Scotland!) This legislation is really, really good, including a right to gender-neutral language and no spousal "veto" on a trans person changing their legal gender. Groups working for this have been very inclusive of different groups' needs, notably trans* and intersex folk, and in parliamentary discussion and voting, all negative, oppressive amendments were rejected and all the rights-expanding ones accepted.

The new laws will come into effect in some months, after other knock-on details and arrangements have been tidied up.

Many reasons for all the happys!

The kyriarchy usually assumes that I am the kind of woman of whom it would approve. I have a peculiar kind of fun showing it just how much I am not.
