I've been here many times, and the last time was to ask about the fact that my ex-boyfriend essentially was telling me that we could be friends, but never talked to me and avoided me, and that said that he just didn't want me in his life. Topic here: http://www.scarleteen.com/forum/ultimatebb.php?/ubb/get_topic/f/3/t/010687.html

Well it;s been like 3 months and we're both back at school (we go to college at the same place) - and we're the same major, so we're always in the same building. The other day I saw him and waved, but I got no response. When I asked him later he just simply said to, "I won't respond" when I asked whether he would reply to any of my greetings. Is it me, or is that just plain rude and immature? I feel like you should have enough dignity and maturity to move on from things and be civil with each other. It also just makes me feel like I did something terribly wrong that he can't stand talking to me, despite the fact that he's claimed he's over the whole thing. So really I don;t know what to do - it just feel awkward when we see each other like twice a week cuz we're in the same building and we're just ignoring each other. At the same time it's making me feel shitty that he feels he needs to ignore me, and it's just frustrating because I think it's immature of him.

I read through your messages, and this guy sounds so much like my ex-boyfriend, I kinda want to believe we dated the same guy. [Razz]
For me, it's been three years now since our relationship, we're both Fine Art majors and our university is tiny... so running into him at some point sort of becomes an inevitability. So, three years later, and he still refuses to acknowledge my existence (save for one random update about a month ago when I found he unblocked me on Facebook... didn't see that coming).
My point is, to be blunt, some men are just immature douchebags who just won't come around, and it's useless, draining, and VERY frustrating to put our energy into making them so much as croak. My advice is to take your energy, and, head held high, use it to enjoy your own life, instead of chaining it to someone else.

Hey jugglernaut? Can you find another way to relate without calling men "douchebags"? Scarleteen tries to maintain a safe space, and those kinds of terms are really off-putting. Thanks!

katiebird, I'm sorry he's responding like that. Have you tried finding a time when you're both not busy and just sitting and talking about it?

Orca,

Well I don;t really want to approach him at all on account of him claiming he won't greet me whenever I try to greet him. Recently we had to return each other's stuff and we had civil conversations both times, the second better than the first. Since we did talk *then* I wonder if that means we can once again speak to each other, or if he only spoke to me then because we had to see each other and now he'll go back to ignoring me.

I try and tell myself it's not worth my time, and if he doesn't want to be friends I should leave it be, but I would like to try and still be friendly, possibly hang out once in a blue moon but I dpn't know how to go about doing that. I also think I may not completely be over him, and that in and of itself annoys me because I feel like I should be over this whole thing by now. I'm not sure if I'm not over him or if I just feel upset since he's expressed he doesn't want contact with me.
