I'm not ganging up on my parents or anything but, my parents won't let me hang out with my friends at the mall. They won't let me buy certain clothes (example: Flare Jeans, because they're too sloppy and 3/4 tops, because they make me look short), or get a second piercing in my ear, I'm not even allowed to wear lipgloss or lipstick. They even put a block on the sites I'm not allowed to see. Example, alloy.com, which is, by the way, one of my favorite sites and it's a teen site, not a porno site. I don't really get it with my parents. Well, that's my ranting and raving session for tonight. Luv, Marianna

Well hon, maybe you should sit down and have a good talk with your parents about this.
While you may not agree with many of their views, they have their own reasons for doing what they did. And well, as long as you are still living under their roof, you have to do as they say.
My parents used to be very protective but they started to relax when I started spending more time with them and talking to them more frequently. I think they just started to trust me more since they now know what I am doing, where and with who.
So have a good talk with your parents and explain why you are unhappy with some of their rules. Gd luck sweetie.
for me, it took *time* before my folks loosened up. i had to show them i was a big girl who could make decisions for herself.
Just how old are you, if i may ask? I didn't get to do much till i was close 17. And i think part of that was my folks saw they made a mistake in being overbearing with my sister. when she got to university, she went nuts and partied way too much. The figured they'd have to loosen up on me before i left home so i could learn to manage myself better.
perhaps start small. like the jeans. wear them tastefully. i don't think they're ready for the boot-flares with a tube top just yet.
and don't do anything that would make them question your judgement. be good. oh for heaven's sake be good
