Here's my problem: Though I absolutly adore him, I am insanely jealous of my boyfriend. He always does everything better than me. Cooking, Basketball, Running, Archery, Pool Sewing, Boardgames, you name it: he can do it, and do it GREAT! Sometimes our relationship seems more like a competition than anything else. When I do something nice for him, he has to come back with something even bigger for me. I really do admire him, because he amazes me with how talented he is. He is perfect. Unfortunatly, I become very jealous of him. I feel like there is no way for me to impress him or ever win at anything. I almost feel like I'm not good enough. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get over this jealousy and competition?

First off, so sorry that no one replied to this sooner. Hopefully you are still around and will see this!
I sometimes envy my partner as well. I think it's a combination of admiring him and my own insecurities that make me feel that way. I just have to reassure myself that we're not in a competition and there's no one that has to "win" in our relationship. We do nice things for each other and really, it's usually more important that we tried than how grand a gesture it was.
I think you should try and look at your own relationship in such a way as well. I know it can feel like he's always "upping the ante" and you have to try to meet these raised expectations, but I doubt your boyfriend is trying to make you feel this way intentionally.

Thankyou so much! I really appreciate the help. I know he doesn't mean for anything to be competition, but its so easy for it to feel that way. I'll try looking at it from a different perspective
