Alright, So I have been dating this amazing guy for the past 2 months. I love him with all of my heart and soul, and he has told me he feels the same way about me. Our 3 month anniversary will be on June 11th. He has been going crazy trying to figure out what to get me for my birthday on May 31st. In fact, he has contacted my best friend for help, which I thought was a great idea on his part.

My best friend told me today that my boyfriend is willing to spend up to $100 on me for my birthday. To me that is an extensive amount. But I can't tell him that, because I am not supposed to know how much he is going to spend. But do you guys think that $100 is to much to spend on someone for their birthday who you have only been dating for 2.5 months, but yet you love them with all of your heart?

I'm not sure if one can really attach a dollar limit to anything---incomes and socioeconomic class vary greatly, and even then, $20 in Small Town, USA is probably a lot more than $20 on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.

However, speaking from my middle-class Northeastern suburban perspective, I'm going to say to let him spend whatever he wants. Don't read too much into it, because he said he could spend up to $100, not that he was going to spend that much.

I think that for later events, you two should communicate about gifts with each other--perhaps even plan a special dinner or outing. That way, nobody's left wondering if one of you spent too much on something the other might not like because you decided on it together.

Also, I don't think the length of time you've been dating matters as much as the emotional intimacy of the relationship.

But I hope everything goes well, and that I helped you a little bit. Happy (early) birthday!

well i got my gf a 75 dollar necklace for her b-day and we were only goin out for a month about the time and we had a great relationship, know it is so much better, i wouldnt really worry about it, 100 sounds fine, honestly i wish i got her a bigger or better one but she loves the smaller and more portable size to it.

If you have to steal a pregnancy test chances are you cant afford a baby either
