My boyfriend and I have been living together for over a year now, dating for about two years. Life is good, everything's hunky-dory, yadda yadda yadda.
Until this morning. I don't have school on Thursdays, he doesn't start until midday (we're both university students). This morning I woke up to him kissing me, rubbing up against me, sucking on my nipples, you get the picture. Normally this would not be a problem; he's done it before (and I to him) and I usually find that it's a very enjoyable way to start the day. But this morning it just felt....wrong. I have no idea why, and I couldn't explain it to him when he asked what was wrong. (For the record, he stopped immediately when I asked him to cut it out.)
So that was about four hours ago, and I'm still feeling some residual ickiness. Again, no clue why. I'm going to bring it up with him when he gets home and we have some time to talk, but I don't know how to go about explaining that it wasn't okay without being able to explain why. Any thoughts?

Well, without sounding like a simpleton, we're just not always in the mood for sex, even at times or in scenarios where we have been before. And when we're not in the mood -- for whatever reason: maybe our bodies aren't there, maybe our minds aren't, maybe we have other things going on, maybe we had a weird dream, etc. -- then yeah, it doesn't feel so great when we or our partners try to push forward with sex anyway.
I don't think you really need a why, regardless. It's pretty much a given that none of us are sexually interested or available 24/7, 365 days a year, and that's a fine why.

Well, I definitely wasn't in the mood (still being half asleep)....I dunno, it feels like it was more than that. Almost a panicky feeling, like I wanted to jump up and away and go hide in a corner somewhere. So I guess I was just wondering why that could be. Anyways, thanks for your help.

I agree. I frequently wake up not knowing where I am, even if I just took a nap for a few minutes. I find that if I take a walk, the feeling wears off after a few minutes. It's probably not unheard of to feel very unusual emotions after a plunge into that strange abyss of paralysis, hallucination and magic we usually refer to as "sleep."
