I have a similar problem to one recently posted of that being about being with a boyfriend for a long time, that will be leaving for college/university.

We've talked and we going to continue having a long distance relationship.. but MY problem is that.. i can be insecure sometimes... and i know he'll be having heaps of fun while far away.
I'm insecure because he is the most decent guy you'll meet, i care about him more then anything and he's my best friend, so I dont want to lose him but i dont like the thought with him being friendly with other girls while away, i trust him, but i dont trust other girls who may be alone around him..
what can i do to help me stop being like this?? i really want this to work between us.

I had some insecurity at first also, and two things seemed to help. One, I realized that when my partner is a little more affectionate, I'm less insecure. So we discussed this and now I get mushy emails more often. Two, time passed and I realized my insecurities were pretty unfounded.

Self-confidence is also a good thing to have in terms of insecurity, but I'd bet that the most self-confident people on the planet are going to have a few insecurity issues. Really, communication in general is about the best fix for many problems, esp. when it comes to distance 'ships.
