Here is the story

There is this boy that I like and he likes me. I know he likes me because he ask my friends about me and even ask teachers about me. I have sent him notes about my feelings but he won't write back or say anything to me about it. We occasionally flirt but he won't take things to the next level. Also he rarely talks about himself and when he does he lies about most of it. There have been times when he asks me out but I say I need to know more about him. Since i really like him and it would be my pleasure to go out with him I have went to drastic measures to get to know him I've asked friends, took his class papers even easedrop in his conversation. Basically what should I do?

Why would you want to go out with someone who lies about everything about himself? He won't take it to the next level? Take that as a sign to find someone who will like you and not lie to you. He's giving you the signals that he doesn't want to go out with you, but that you're fun to flirt with.

Well, there are a lot of reasons he might have issues with telling the truth about himself. From the information that you gave, it sounds as though because of the situation he's gone through with his parents, he's got some serious issues with trusting people. But, just because of that, don't totally discount this guy. It's entirely possible that you just have to work at it to learn more about him and to get the truth.

There really is no "set" way to work with him through his trust issues. Experiment. If you're willing to work with this guy for the long haul, then you will probably be able to find out more about him, and maybe establish a nice, comfortable relationship.

You said he lies about himself. How do you know he isn't lying about other things? This sounds almost like my first relationship. And it hurt me so bad to find out that I was lied to. It can set you up for unnessacary hurt.

I know he's not lying about the family issuses because my friend lives right next to him and he saw and heard the arguments and he told everybody what happened so the boy I like (John Doe)is mad at him for telling everybody they had a seceret oath and he broke it and called the cops so I can't use my friend as a person to help me talk to him
