Ok, I am avery trustworthy person and I don't go around talking mess about people and I have never told a secret. But one time my really good friend told me something his cousin, Dan (Who is also my GOOD friend), said about me, and it was really MEAN! Ok so yeah he hold me not to tell Dan but I was SO mad about what Dan had said, I confronted him about it. So now my friend won't tell me any secrets or anything because he doesn't trust me because I told that one secret. How can I gain back his trust?

Breaking someone's trust is always a difficult thing to undo. My advice is to offer one, and only one, very sincere apology. This could be in person or as a letter, not over the phone or online. After that all you can do is be trustworthy. I'm sure he'll come around eventually but it will take some time. However, if you sincerely try to make amends I'm sure things will smooth over.

ookuotoe is right. Trust is something which has to be earned and I think the best thing you can do now is to offer a very sincere apology and after some time, your friend will be able to tell if you can be trusted.

You know hon, you can never please the entire world. Somewhere, somehow, people are going to bitch about you or say unflattering things about you. Just take it in your stride. You can't go around confronting everybody who says something unkind about you.

If what was said about you was untrue or simply mean, just know that you aren't like that and move on.
