I only noticed one thing I disagreed with in this article. Female ejaculation WAS mentioned ) BUT it stated that this occurs from the urethra. In the experience of every single female ejaculator I have comunicated with (myself + about 15 others) the ejaculations initiate from within the vagina. It may "feel like" the urethra depending on positions, etc., but any specific viewing or filming of an ejeculation clearly show initiation in the vagina. While it is posible that there are others who are different, based on the statistics in my research, the information would be incorrect.

Can you give some references for that "research"? I'd be happy to look at them.

Because that stands counter, or is murky, anyhow, not only to the experience of many in-person ejaculation viewers and ejaculators, but to some aspects of female sexual physiology as we know it (including basic gladular structure), and the research on same from well-backed-up folks like the Kinsey Institute and existing abstracts in journals (who use far more than 15 individuals in their models).

It should also be noted that anyone who has researched this arena knows full well there are of yet no perfectly "right" answers, nor any definitive answers on this matter at this point. So, while I'm glad to see new information above what we already have or is currently in the journals, I'll tell you outright that you're not going to see us leap to the Big Right Answer on any of this, because we know full well it just isn't documented enough to exist as of yet.

I love this site so much. I found it awhile back when I was looking for information on a few things. Like me and my boyfriend were thinking about sex, birth control, advice, and i had a few questions I wanted answering. I got all my answers here, and I've never had such great advice from anyone. Thank you, and Keep up the good work!

The link to the Berkeley website showing the similarities of men and women is awesome. Out of intuition I made the comparisons myself, but the specifics of how the organs change into what in an embryo are awesome...

Hmm..I sound like a nerd.. LOL, oh well. Hahaha. I haven't heard anyone say sex wasn't interesting!

As a virgin who is inexperienced with herself as well as with any sexual partner(s), this site is a massive relief -- informative, straightforward, *and* well-designed! I'm a very private person by nature; it's really difficult for me to ask questions about sex and sexuality. Because I'm 19 and it seems like everyone my age has been going at it like rabbits (a false perception, I know, but have you been 19 recently?), it's unbelievably hard to admit how naive and unknowledgeable I am. Really, thank you.

Regarding the article itself on female anatomy, it'd be a bit more convenient if there were more diagrams accompanying different parts of the article. Sometimes bending around and peering into the murky shadows is not simple; I'm also quite geared towards a visual learning style.

Again, wonderful site. Thanks.

I liked this article! I am 15 and still exploring my body, I recently started coming upon the slang terms for parts of my body and I wanted to know what was what. Thanks for all the honest, high quality info, it was just what I needed.

My 12-year-old granddaughter frequently spends the weekend with me … her 61 year old, widowed, maternal grandfather. She is barely beginning to enter puberty and has started asking "questions". As an example … I am flattered that she is comfortable enough with her Grampa to ask, "What is meant by a boy having a wet dream?"

Some questions appear to be educational in nature; others appear to be only confirming the correctness or incorrectness of what (I know) her mother has told her. “Why do girls have periods?” “When do you think I will have my first period?”

As she journeys down the puberty road, I anticipate many more questions. This article will be a big help in making Grampa appear to have ALL the right answers ... thanks for the wealth of information.

To the grandpa guy...

Wouldn't it be better to let ur granddaughter check out the site for herself?
Seriously, any adults out there with a connection to "children" really aught to make sure that the "children" no about this site...

This site has been an extremely informative and eye opening source of information, and this piece in specific has helped me a lot. I've take three different mandatory sex ed classes through my educational career and I have become so paranoid out of my mind fo the risks of having sex because of them that for a year I considered becoming a nun, (which didn't turn out well because I soon found out that I have a very ... powerful sex drive... guess it's true what they say about red heads) and for the past three years I've been researching out of school just to set things right. None of the numerous other sites I've found (after filtering through all the porn sites...) seem to measure up to this one... This article in particular answered many of my teenager-paranoia inflicted questions ( I thought maybe I had a deformed inner labia because one is significantly bigger than the other... ) and I wanted to express my gratitude for making me feel a littlemore sane. Thank you! I can't wait to show this site to my boyfriend!

This is cool. Usally site are boring considering I've already know this. I'm 13 now but I've been a masturbator for about 9 years and have really got into it in the last year or so. I've been cumming that long too. Yes it's true even if you don't believe me. But this really cool!!!

I found your article very proper and to the point,Infact I have always had a strait forward Mother who answered any question I ever asked. Remember the stupidest Quesrtion is the one you don't ask. I have grown up with the same attitude toward my kids, and my oldest son has said thanks and mylittle girl 'Who is know 19' has asked me questions that most people would find attrotious, although she has never had a sexual problem and still says "I LOVE YOU" I Think I Did it right. So please keep your ideas and don't stop writting,There are a lot of kids who can use your help. Trust me I have answered a lot of questions for my Daughters freinds. Thank You Dad.

I think this was a vary good article in fact I am in the midst of teaching my girls about their body and there are a lot of things in this article I can use. I am actually a RN and I actully work in the nbn and postpartum unit and it amazes me how much women don't know about thir bodies. They think it's to have sex and babies and that's it. They really don't know enough abouth their bodies. One thing I tell my patients to do is to embrace your and learn about it before you make these decisions.

I want to thank you guys for posting this article on your site.
When I first had my sexual intercourse with my close friend,
( you might as well say friends-with-benifits) I guess you can say that I had sort of a scare about if I had caught an std (even though we both checked ourselves out) because after intercourse, I would go to the bathroom and feel this type of burning sensation, then I would see blood on the tissue and I'd be like " my period is definetly not on", so now I know that it's because of the stretching of the hymen and it's perfectly normel.
Thanks again!!!!!!

Hi - great site, but the cross-section anatomy drawing needs to be corrected. The arrow for the g-spot is pointing to the wrong side of the vagina. It should point to the wall closest to the belly, as the text explains.

It does actually point to the vaginal wall closest to the belly - it's just a bit tricky to tell, because there isn't a lot of space for a whole lot of arrows in that portion of the drawing. [Smile]
