My girlfriend is on tri cyclen lo, and has been for about a year. Her period comes pretty regularly on the Wednesday (sometimes Thursday) of the pack. Its now early Friday morning and still nothing. We use condoms and she has not missed any pills.

She took an at home preg test (first response early) today (Thursday) and it came back negative. She has also had a pretty stressful month.

Is this normal to be late while on the pill? Her sugar pills finish on Saturday, we are pretty freaked out and really would like some advice. With the negative preg test we should be good right?

Thanks so much for the help.

Even if your girlfriend notices a pretty regular pattern of when her withdrawal bleed happens, it's not unusual for it to sometimes come a little later (or earlier!) than the average. It's not always possible to know why that happens, but bodies are bodies and don't always work like clockwork, you know?

The pregnancy test should be accurate at this point, so right now all you can do is wait. With combined condom and bc pill use I can't quite say it's impossible for pregnancy to occur, but it's incredibly unlikely.
